Our intrepid adventurer set out again, after waking to the most beautiful morning and sunrise! Just look at the picture- isn't it gorgeous!!

All anyone on the North West coast talks about is how dangerous the straits are, how quickly the whirlpools form and how one silly mistake can kill you. Oh good.
Actually, the hardest part by far was getting off the big boat we moored alongside! The tide was being most unhelpful and pushing us onto the boat and no matter what he tried, Jay couldn't get the boat off her. Eventually, brute force won out, but it was an interesting wake up, especially for our poor alternator which was still very unhappy.

Anyway, once up and running, the sun had come out, enabling Jay to at least see the swirling water and also the dry bits! Turns out most of these weren't marked on the chart we had and the ones which were had moved! Very helpful.

A violent eddie or the beginnings of a whirlpool? Dont stick around to find out!
Eventually he cleared the straits and breathed a huge sigh of relief. Pwllheli is just around the corner, so he had time to enjoy the gorgeous day, take a couple of lovely photos as he sailed across the bay and then moor her up snug in her marina berth for the week.
Our brave explorer!
What a stunning day!
