Well, after our monster refit had taken pretty much all of 2006, we finally found a berth in Southampton we liked and just needed to take her there.
Unfortunately, work got in the way again, so eventually we were forced to just do it on the first non-stormy day we had when we were free. It started ok, then deteriorated. We took some friends of ours and both of them were sea-sick. Not a great introduction to the beauty of sailing! It was also a bank holiday, which we didnt realise meant absolute carnage in Southampton Water. When we finally arived in the Solent and saw the amount of boats it was terrifying! And they all seemed to want to steer straight at you. On that one day, we probably saw more boats than we had in the entirety of our journey down. It was a complete culture shock. We slunk into our berth at the marina and breathed a huge sigh of relief.
A gorgeous morning.
That's a very very big ship!
Money back in the water at Dorset Lake
After this, we again did another refit on Money, which took us all the way through to Spring 2007. For more details see www.concretefloats.com We also did a few day sails and test sails out into Southampton Water, but we have only included a few of them. We moved off the boat in March 2006 and got first a caravan and then a house. We are living near London at the moment as that is whre we both work.
