This time, we both managed to comply with the rules ie- be there! The morning was cloudy but it was lifting and the sea was fairly calm. This was the trip down across the Irish sea and we were hoping to get it over with quickly.
Kat sleeping...
Then Jay.... Then Kat... Then Jay... It's hard work this sailing malarky What a difference a couple of hours can make!
Eventually, we decided to pull into Fishguard for a few hours rest and to try and fix our alternator which was once again playing up. It was pitch black and we had to use our big beam lamp to show the way through the hundreds of buoys and lobster pots. There were no navigational beacons, so it made for an interesting entry.
Here's Money moored against the stone wall. It was a gorgeous little harbour but as we got in at gone 2300 we went straight to sleep.
We left the fuel berth at 11am and set off merrily. We weren't exactly sure where we were going to end up- we just wanted to get as far as we possibly could. We set the sails, pointed the bow in a southerly direction and pottered about for a couple of hours, before deciding to sleep in shifts as we were both knackered! Actually, there was no deciding, Kat fell asleep so as soon as she woke up, Jay passed out and it went on like that until dinner time. Fray Bentos pie and veg. Yum! There was a massive white duck following us for most of the way. We wondered if it had mistaken Moneypenny for its mum or something. We forgot to get photos of it- silly us- but it makes a number of appearances in our log!
